Ocean navigator Didac Costa is already less than 350 miles to cross the finish line at Les Sables d’Olonne.
After circling the north-center of the anticyclone in the Azores and leaving behind the storm and giant waves, Didac is sailing at a regular speed of 12 kn in favorable conditions. The One Planet One Ocean is in position 20 and 691.91 mn from the leader, it is expected to arrive this weekend, hoping to drop from 100 days.
Yannick Bestaven, the skipper of Maître CoQ IV, is the overall winner of the ninth edition of the Vendée Globe, after finishing third and discounting the 10 hours and 15 minutes of compensation for the time spent rescuing Kevin Escoffier.
