CAIXABANK BECOMES OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF SAIL TEAM BCN, THE SPANISH TEAM IN THE YOUTH & PUIG WOMEN’S AMERICA’S CUP 1024 593 Real Club Naútico de Barcelona

CaixaBank has presented today, at its corporate headquarters in Barcelona, a new sponsorship agreement that will link the financial entity with the Sail Team BCN, which under the banner of the Reial Club Nàutic Barcelona, will be the only Spanish team that will participate in the Youth & Puig Women’s America’s Cup. The boat will represent Spain in the two competitions: the Copa América Femenina, which will be held for the first time in the history of the event, and the Copa América Juvenil, contested by crew members under 25 years of age.

Specifically, the Copa América Juvenil will be held from September 26 to October 2 and the Copa América Femenina from October 10 to 16, on the same regatta course as the Youth & Puig Women America’s Cup.
Sail Team BCN has received approval from America’s Cup Event (ACE) and Emirates Team New Zealand to be the Spanish challenger for the event in 2024.

Sail Team BCN will participate in two categories, with two different teams: an all-female team made up of a maximum of eight women and another youth team made up of a maximum of eight young sailors between 18 and 25 years old.

The selection process has been open to any Spanish athlete and their sports resume and knowledge of foil sailing have been assessed. The final selection of the youth and women’s teams is scheduled to be announced at the end of January. In the medium and long term, the Sail Team BCN aspires to build a platform of talent that allows it to compete in all categories of the future Copa América.

As the official sponsor of Sail Team BCN, the financial entity will be present in the image on the sail and hull of the boat, the team base and all the crew’s clothing.
